Guys, today i remembered one of my fourth standard English poems called "Leisure" written by William Henry Davis. Its very simple in english and i love it long time now.
What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this is if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
Looking into these passage, i wonder how true his words have come true! Believe me this poem is atleast a century old. The poet must have been visionary to predict how fast our life will become. True to the essence , i feel we are quite rushing all the time and missing all the small time happiness spread around us. I had a quick opportunity to follow some thing mentioned in this poem. I just went out and got into leisure.I was really happy.I just share this with u.
Yep the pic was taken with my camera in my garden :-)
Leisure.. is needed by everyone for sure!
